Saying Thanks to our Military

Thank you for supporting our Military.  This week at Blueberry Hill Farms we are focusing on collecting the items below. When we have 40 of an item, we will mail them to Lt. Jones so he can pass them along to his platoon.

1.  Individually wrapped items or servings are best:  J   Smaller travel size work well.

Walmart has a great section with items under a dollar.  Buying “several” of the same

inexpensive items makes your shopping and reaching our goals faster.

2.  If it is easier for you to donate cash, that is also helpful.  The money will be used to buy

specific items needed or for mailing packages.  There is a place for this at the farm.

3.  If you would like to write a note to the platoon and/or enclose a family picture that will

help them see who it is that cares about them.  Be sure to include your address.

Thanks again for making a difference in the lives of the men in his combat platoon. Your prayers on their behalf are the most important.  God Bless America.

1st Lieutenant Doug Jones in Afghanistan
Our Troops, Our Children.

PERSONAL REQUEST: PRAY FOR OUR TROOPS. Being a family with three daughters, we never thought we would be involved in the WAR. Although our nephews Chas Prothro and Casey Prothro have and are serving as Marines, and we are very proud of them. But, as things go our eldest daughter has a significant other, First Lieutenant Doug Jones of the 101st Airborne Division, Army Infantry, born and raised in Richardson, Texas who shipped out to Afghanistan early May 2010. Doug, the Platoon leader, has requested that we try to acquire items that can assist the platoon (40 men) Blueberry Hill Farms has set up a donation table and we  ask anyone who can to donate a can of Bug Spray, individuapowdered drinks  (Gatorade or Propel),eyedrops, toothbrushes, deodorant, Wet Ones, jerky, trail mix, protein bars, and bring it to the farm and we will ship the items to these soldiers, and try and make their lives a little easier. We will continue to take donations all season! A worthy cause.

WOW! Thanks to the many people who have made a donation.

Dear Chuck and Sherri,

Rick and I wanted to say thanks to your customers for supporting this effort of yours so we put our name next to yours in the thank you part.  Hope that was okay - even though we aren't "really" part of Blueberry Hill Farms.

If you can think of a better way for us to say thanks, let us know.  We are open to anything. Just want to be sure your customers  know that Doug's family is grateful.

Have a great day,
